Ba Bao Cha
Also known as Eight Treasures Tea, Ba Bao Cha is traditionally prepared using a Gai Wan (Chinese lidded cup) and is served as a desert tea with meals. The eight treasures are the eight ingredients that create this unique brew. With a powerful sweetness from sugar and ginseng as well as a mild fruitiness from the dried fruits, the smooth earthiness of chrysanthemum and Dragon Well green tea create a balanced brew.
This tea can be prepared in either a 16-32oz pot or a gai wan, using the entire packet's worth of tea. For a pot, brew using the entire packet with 175-195 degree water. for a small pot steep for 2-3 minutes, for a large pot try 3-5 minutes. In a gai wan, use 175-195 degree water.
Dragonwell green tea, chrysanthemum, ginseng, crystal sugar, raisins, longan fruit, jujubees and goji berries.
