Lapsang Souchong (Organic)
Lapsang Souchong, is a Chinese black tea with a smoky flavor. The dry leaves have an aroma reminiscent of a camp fire. When brewed, the smoky flavor is a wonderful compliment to black tea, and does not overpower its slightly sweet taste. The tea gets its signature flavor from its drying process, in which the leaves are placed over pine smoke. Legend says that the tea was created during the Qing era, when armies passing through the area delayed the drying of the tea leaves. Farmers were eager to satisfy demand, so they sped up the drying process by placing the leaves over fires from local pine leaves. Can be enjoyed plain or with a squeeze of lemon!
Basic preparation;
Use 2 teaspoons of tea per 8-12 oz of water. Steep for 2 minutes with boiling water.
